I'm doing a silent install of WMB 6.1 on RHEL5

Code:

cd /mq/MQSeriesInstallFiles/WMB/WMB6.1.0.0/messagebroker_runtime1
./setuplinuxx64 -silent -options silent_options

Where silent_options is my response file. Works well, and when I'm done, I look in /root/mqsi6_install.log for the results.

Then I go to install FixPack 6.1.0.2.

Code:

cd /mq/MQSeriesInstallFiles/WMB/WMB6.1.0.2/disk1
./setuplinuxx64 -silent -options silent_options

Where does the fixpack write its output? The readme file for the fixpack does not say. Output log location is not an option in the response file.

mqsiprofile does tell me that I am at 6.1.0.2, but I want to look at some confirmation text from the Fix Pack install process. Or if there is a problem, a log that tells me what up.

Hi,
I'm supposing that fix pack installation writes installation logs to the same file /root/mqsi6_install.log

It does. And the timestamps are indirect evidence

(Oct 21, 2008 4:31:25 PM), mqsi.Setup, com.ibm.ismp.beans.wizard.actions.WriteToLogWizardAction, dbg, BIP8621: Install of IBM WebSphere Message Broker 6.1 has started
This I assume is 6.1.0.0 starting

(Oct 21, 2008 4:33:00 PM), mqsi.Setup, com.ibm.ismp.beans.wizard.actions.WriteToLogWizardAction, dbg, BIP8622: Install of IBM WebSphere Message Broker 6.1 has finished successfully
This I assume is 6.1.0.0 completing.

This I assume is 6.1.0.2 starting.

Exact same message after 6.1.0.2 (I think).

Not very clear.

But it looks like if you do a search for "MQSI_VERSION=6.1.0.2" in that file after the fact you will get some line somewhere indicating that it was 6.1.0.2 that was installed.
