One of our applications uses COD's to verify that a message was delivered (I've asked the programming group to remove the need for the COD's, but that hasn't been done yet). Two weeks ago, they changed the messages from persistent to non-persistent, and now they're saying they don't see the COD's. Can anyone tell me, do the messages HAVE to be persistent for the COD mechanism to work? |

I don't think so and you can always check it and prototype it.
However remember that non persistent messages are not guaranteed the same quality of service as persistent messages.
This mean they might get discarded in the channel, or when some other troubles appear and the system is working as designed. The messages were probably persistent for a reason. Have your apps justify why they are moving away from persistent messages...

COD messages are created/sent by the local qmgr (not the application) when the application gets the message from the queue. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
