Hi,
I tried to start the one queue manager on hp-ux server. but the runmqsc command isn't working. it showing not found. I checkd the runmqsc executable in /opt/mqm/bin folder. but the bin folder is missing.

Can i just copy the folder from other servers. Will it work ?

Pls any one help on this.

Thanks.

If something is missing find out why, find out when, find out who, so you can (hopefully) stop it happening again.

Check another installation for permissions etc. before copying stuff over (if it can be done).

Hi,

Thanks.
I am not able to findout why the files are missing. I think some one had deleted those files. Still investigating.
I found all the /var/mqm files are existing. but only missing /opt/mqm files.

I am trying to copy the whole /opt/mqm folder from other server to this.

Hopfully it should work.

Thanks.

Why don't you just reinstall it ? That way you should be sure everything is set up correctly.

Hi all,

Could any one clear my doubts.
If the mqm user and group is not exist on HP-UX server, does it mean that mq is not insatalled?

Thanks.

Did you refer the Quick Beginnings manual before installation?... That should've cleared most of your doubts.. In Unix systems, Groups and Users should be created and proper file system should be allotted for MQ installation to succeed.

Please use the below link...

No...but it may mean that the group and user have been deleted.

Thanks all for reply.

Unbelievable. But true.

I have successfuly copied into /opt/mqm files from other mq server /opt/mqm path.
Able to start the queue manager.
Before when I try runmqsc, it was showing not found. bcz of the /opt/mqm fils were missing.

Great and so proud of mqseries.net folks and me.

Many thanks for all.

I hope the other server was at exactly the same MQ level, or you may have problems with MQ software compatibility. Compare output of dspmqver command.
