Hello all,
I've been browsing and searching mqseries.net for the returncodes of the qload utility (particularly for AIX), and i was not able to find any information on it.
I've also checked the manual.
Is there anyone who can tell me what qload returns in different situations, so it can be used in a ksh-script?
Many thanks in advance!

Hi,
qload is from a SupportPac MO03. SupportPac MO03 includes a manual. Did you read the manual?
Also, the MQ Return Codes are in the WMQ Messages manual - chapter 8.

Thanks Roger,
I've read both manuals.
In the SupportPac, nothing is mentioned at all about reason-codes (which I did expect to find there....)
And in the WMQ Messages manual, it's all about MQ reason-codes and not about RC's of the qload utility (if I'm not mistaken).
I'm looking for the reason-codes of the qload utility itself....
I hope someone can help me...
regards,

The qload utility itself has no reason codes as this is the result of an API call.
In case of error it may output the reason code it received in order to help you diagnose the problem.
The reason codes are well documented.
The qload utility may have return codes and they would be documented in the qload documentation.

If you have a problem with a Cat2 or Cat4 SupportPac, including it's documentation, then you should contact the author of the SupportPac using the contact information given with the SupportPac or on the SupportPac page.
If there is no useful contact information, then you should use the feedback mechanism on the webpage for the SupportPac.
If you have a problem with a Cat3 or Cat1 SupportPac, you should open a PMR. |

In IBM-speak, a return code is from an application program at the end of program execution to communicate to the o/s environment (shell) the outcome of program execution.
Generally, a zero return code means all went well. Greater than zero usually means the program made some assumptions about the parameters you passes (or didn't pass), or application failure (but not abend) to complete your task, that kind of thing.
In IBM-speak, a ReasonCode is from an individual MQ API call. The WMQ Messages manual and the WMQ Application Programming Reference documents the ReasonCodes and their meaning. The APR has the ReasonCodes by API call. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
