Hi Guys...

Hope ure all well...

I'm trying to build a C++ program on an MQ Server environment.

Options are as follows (main query is the item at the end - lmqcrt):

CC -DDBUS_SOLARIS_CC60 -mt -o bin/alertmsngr messenger/am_main.o messenger/am_msgs.o util/laj.o util/mgo.o util/config.o omgeo_msgs/msg31.o omgeo_msgs/msg33.o omgeo_msgs/msg36.o omgeo_msgs/msg3B.o omgeo_msgs/msg48.o omgeo_msgs/msg5D.o omgeo_msgs/msg97.o omgeo_msgs/msgA1.o -L/export/home/mercator/src/alert/external/dbus_3_0_8_14/SPARC_5.8/6.0/lib -L/export/home/mercator/src/alert/external/dbus_3_0_8_14/vitria.3.1/SPARC_5.8/6.0/lib -lpthread -ldbUtils -ldbError -ldbCore -ldbus -L/export/home/mercator/src/xerces-c-src_2_5_0/lib -L/export/home/mercator/src/icu/source/lib -L/export/home/mercator/src/alert/external/AlertDirect/direct/lib -L/export/home/mercator/src/alert/external/AlertDirect/tuxedo/lib -L/export/home/mercator/src/alert/mq/lib -lxerces-c -licuuc -licudata -lgen -lcobatmi -ltrpc -lintl -ldci -lcclp -lwsc -lbuft -lgpnet -lnwi -lnws -lfml -lfml32 -lgp -lnsl -lsocket -lposix4 -lmqcrt

and I get the following error:

ld: fatal: library -lmqcrt: not found

Which is because I can't find it either.. I'm wondering whether I need it for client builds and whether I still need to include -lmqm also.


The mqm pkginfo is:

application mqm WebSphere MQ for Sun Solaris
application mqm-upd05 MQSeries for Sun Solaris 2 - U481514



I'm planning on running the code on a similar server (Solaris 8, MQ5.3.. yeah I know its old which has a client install:

/opt $ pkginfo | grep mqm
application mqm WebSphere MQ Client for Sun Solaris

Previously, when I just used the -lmqm option, the code built BUT I couldn't connect (using CONNX) to the client connection (2058 error) although the connect string seems fine. I can telnet to it ok though.


Arrgggghhh!!! Any thoughts?

Look up in the WMQ Appl. Pgm Guide (chapter 24) for the correct MQ client modules to be linked to your application.

I was expecting an RTFM response, but in this case it was correct - I just needed a pointer. Thanks for your help it works now...
