Hi
I have installed MQ 6.0.2.0 on a 64 bit Windows Windows 2003 server. This included migration of an existing queue manager from 5.3.13.
Problem is that I am exceeding max channels (according to error log)
I would like to increase from default (100) but cannot find a Channels Property page in MQ Explorer. (We used to set it to 5000 on 5.3 queue mgr)
This site and IBM docs indicate that MQ Explorer does not work on 64 bit platform so I am trying to administer the queue manager from a 32 bit machine having installed MQ Explorer.
I have tried strmqcfg -c on the 32 bit machine and checked mqjbnd05 is loaded.
I think you are out of luck. MQ Explorer doesn't run on 64bit, as you have determined, and the property you want to change is not (as far as I know) configurable from a Client Connection. MQ Explorer will only let you configure it from a Bindings connection - because it's not a property that's settable through MQSC.
You should probably look at adjusting the value using amqmdain.
