Hi,

I have existing distributed Queue Managers (QM1 to QM5) setup in our environment. All the QM r having transmission queues and sender/receiver channels configured and working fine.

Now I want to setup a new MQ cluster and move all the above queue managers into this cluster.

But it seems there are many transmission queues and channel are already configured in distributed configuration.

My Question is :-
Do I need to remove all the transmission queus and channels before moving to cluster?
Do I need to create a fresh cluster and create all queue managers again and setup new channels?

I will appreciate your thoughts on this.

Thanks.

No. Remove them after you have created the cluster

There will be no 'fresh cluster' because all your current queue managers are using point-to-point connectivity. The CLUSSDR/CLUSRCVR channels will be your 'new channels'.

Once you have set up the cluster, share in the cluster the queues (QL definitions) in the queue managers that were referenced by QR's in other queue managers, and remove any QR's to them or redefine them as QA's with the now-clustered QL's.

The above is a 'pencil sketch' of what needs to be done - hit the Clustering manual for the detail.
