Hi,
I have to come up with mockup design for WMQ to perform active/active environment. i.e Continues Availability of WMQ connection.
Here’s the layout.
1, QM1 on Server1
2. QM2 on Server2
3. External Qmgrs/MQapplication.
5. Current HACMP Support active/passive
To achieve this active/active design recommend making QM1 and QM2 in cluster say CLUS1. I would like to eliminate the GatewayQM concept. That could become Single Point of failure.
Hence provide Workload balance based on Queues and Channels MQv6
The new picture with CLUS1 (QM1 and QM2)
1. On Server1 we have QM1, create qmgr QM2 but no active
2. On Server2 we have QM2, create qmgr QM1 but not active
3. QM1 and QM2 are running at same time and MQ clients are connected via MQCHLTAB.
4. As QM1 and QM2 are in cluster , RemoteQM become Partial Repository on CLUS1
5. If QM1 is down on Server1 , then Server2 QM1 will take and process of OLD messages and vice versa.
6. QM2 still receive new messages with another instance of QM1 on server2
I am not clear on the following
1. QM1 and QM2 are FR . Do I need to put other remoteQ mgrs as Partial Repository in same cluster. IF yes, then we are looking almost 30 qmgr in ONE cluster.
Every RemoteQ mgr will have to define Two ClusSDR and One CLusRevc channel … How can I eliminate this? No Gateway.
2. QM1 listen on Port 1414 and QM2 on Port 1416. How would the RemoteQM ClusterSDR know which port to connect! Can I define VirtualPort. Perhaps Two SDR channels should be define on RQM for QM1 and QM2.
Already gone thru support pac mc91 but does describe about active/active in detail
I guess what I really trying to get MQ act like an app server.
Thanks in advance...

Active/Active is just two Active/Passive setups, that overlay on top of each other.
It has absolutely nothing to do with MQ Cluster setup, and you should not think of the two together at all. |
