Sorry mqonnet but I have to disagree with you ....
The probability of errors are exactly the same whether you use large messages or small messages. The potential failling points (i.e. network etc.) and the risk related to these failing points will exist irrespective.
Further, assuming you have all the data collected and ready to send to a qmgr it would obviously be more efficient to send one single message than multiple small messages but in other cases it might affect the business to wait for all the data to be available if it was time imperative. In cases like this it would be better to send smaller messages intermittently.
Bottom line - the business rules/requirements should dictate whether small or large messages should be used.
