Our security ops folks (bless 'em) have put tamos onto one of the AIX servers that runs MQ. Luckily it's a test box!

Now MQ won't start. Initially we saw this:

mqm@ua2s035 [/home/mqm] > strmqm DOM2
ksh: strmqm: 0403-006 Execute permission denied.
mqm@ua2s035 [/home/mqm] >

Then they registered the suid executables under /usr/mqm with tamos and then we got:

mqm@ua2s035 [/home/mqm] > strmqm DOM2
WebSphere MQ queue manager 'DOM2' starting.
AMQ5615: Default objects cannot be created: CompCode = 2 Reason = 2059.
mqm@ua2s035 [/home/mqm] >

Has anyone here got any experience of tamos and MQ that can provide some guidance. I've suggested that they need to call in support on this, but I'm hoping that someone here can get us flying sooner than that route.

I did search http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/support/ for tamos, but found nothing.

For now they have removed TAMOS ACLs on /usr/mqm and /var/mqm which has got us back in the air ...

Looks almost as if they were trying to get to orange book TCB level A, without understanding what the implications might be.
