Hey everyone,
A client of mine uses MQ v5.3 over Windows.
He wants to buy a new machine to use for MQ needs.
It would be a Win 2003 server OS.
The client expects a maximum message throughput of 60K per minute, and an average message size of 2K. Persistency will be applied for every message i assume (as we are talking about banking services).
Besides ways of calculationg requierld disk space, logs size etc..
He wants to know how many CPU's, dual/quad, how much MHz, CPU's buffer etc... and how much RAM he has to buy in order for his machine to operate well.
Any formula available to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Eli. |

Look at the IBM performance reports (support pacs).
However it's always best to benchmark in your own environment as well.
Disk write performance will be key - look for fast write cached disks (or SANs) and efficient RAID layout, dedicated physical disks and so on. |
