Use the RESET CLUSTER command to forcibly remove a queue manager from a cluster
You might use the RESET CLUSTER command if, for example, a queue manager has been deleted but still has cluster-receiver channels defined to the cluster. Instead of waiting for WebSphere MQ to remove these definitions (which it does automatically) you can issue the RESET CLUSTER command to tidy up sooner. All other queue managers in the cluster are then informed that the queue manager is no longer available.

Please read the Clustering manual very carefully as to what effect this command has. In short, it is used to forcibly remove a queue manager from a cluster. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

if you are not sure what you are doing, don't do it blindly...

If you delete cluster qmgr without "Removing a queue manager from a cluster" step,
cluster repository still have cluster qmgr and queue infomation of deleted qmgr.
In this case, you can use reset cluster command. |

if you can't be bothered to read the real info in the manual then how can you expect anybody on the forum to take you seriously
the answer is no, the command has no effect on anything at all |

I realise that this is probably sarcasm, but please don't post things like that to do with reset cluster, you really should NOT go around issuing "reset cluster" without understanding that it will have quite a large effect on your system. Someone might think you are serious and go ahead and do it.
edit:
specifically from the infocentre pages:
"You are unlikely to need this command in normal circumstances"
and:
"Do not use this command as a short cut to removing a queue manager from a cluster." |
