Hi all
We have channels using SSL authentication and encryption, does anyone know if the channels will be compressed?
I have read that SSL connections can negotiate data compression, was wondering if MQ enables this or I should use the channel compression facilities.
cheers

SSL uses cryptographic algorithms for the same.
every thing depends upon the Cipher Suites and Cipher Specs you are choosing _________________ Regards

None of the cipher specs that come with MQ specify compression, so while the SSL spec allows for the concept of compression, the actual implementation here won't use it (at least that's my understanding).
You can of course specify compression in the channel definition, which will be performed before SSL gets its paws on the buffer (which is the correct stage to do this).
Look at the COMPHDR and COMPMSG attributes of the channels to control this. _________________ Cheers,
