I am trying to simply test how a file can be transferred. I have two computers with mq network working. Now I like to test how when I put a file in a certain directory in my comuter A, the file is transferred into a designated directory of the another computer.
some spteps what I need to go through would be highly appreciated.
thanks a lot |

Yes. I can ftfping with local and destination queue manager
ftfping -lqm QMA -dqm QMB
this executes successfully. However, am still stuck configuring file transfer. If you can give me high level of steps for file transfer, that would be really helpful.
Some particular questions:
Does a source qmgr necessary or local qmgr can act as sqm?
does not original qmgr necessary or can local qmgr act for this?
how I can link file and directory with queue manager?
how to setup who is in control?
I would really appreciate if you can answer these questions.
thanks a lot |

OK sounds like you have everything you need to do a file transfer...
for a quick test can you go into the webGUI and submit a transfer between QMA and QMB?
Next it sounds like you want to do a directory monitor to poll a directory for files and then call a transfer...
as for the questions I'm not sure exactly what you're asking but you need to configure all your file transfers in pm4data itself, pm4data is required on all endpoints that are interacting with the local filesystem, and each pm4data endpoint is configured at installation to connect to the MQ network as well as the pm4data enterprise server.

can you tell me why the following command does not work
ftf –oqm QMA –sqm QMA –spath C:\pm4datatest_dir1\test.txt –dqm QMA –dpath C:\pm4datatest_dir2
i hoped this should transfer the test.txt file from dir1 to dir2 but does not do anything. On screen, it says, request submitted.
thanks |

check the fixit in the GUI and you'd find out exactly what the error is... most likely it's b/c you didn't submit a dpath file name!

I've got a question to jeevan. You've written "I have two computers with mq network working", so how does it look like your network? Is it one MQ Server and one MQ Client? And on it there are 2 nodes: one default on Server and one on Client side? Is the Client node on the same queue manager as Server node? I can't do ftfping for nodes as they are on same queue manager on server side What I'm doing wrong? |
