Hi,

All the messages passing through the channel is set to convert by enabling CONVERT(YES) at the sender channel end..further the message is retrived from the queue using MQGET..there also it set to convert by using MQGMO_CONVERT(YES) ...what would happen?

here you go for the most possible outcomes
the message will be converted twice with inconsistent bit patterns
the message will be converted once
the message won't get converted with completion code MQCC_WARNING

can anyone please tell me which one of the above best suit the situation stated?

Cheers,
Prasanna G

What makes you think we'll answer it, then?

This is very bad thing to post this question like this.

You do understand that even the assessment questions are IBM legal property, right?

Which of the outcomes do you believe is the correct one (if any)? And why?

agree..but the question was not reproduced ...even the content & idea is different from the real question

[What makes you think we'll answer it, then? ]

you can express your views if you had faced situation like this...you can't take it is an answer....becos there is no way you can cross check this

[This is very bad thing to post this question like this. ]

you're most welcome to express your views...

[Which of the outcomes do you believe is the correct one (if any)? And why?]

i would tempted to choose the first one the message will be converted twice with inconistent bit of patterns..just because of the other two options

i didn't choose the second one....the message will be converted once...(if it is get converted once, either of the other option will give an error code or reason code for failing to convert)

i didn't choose the third one..the message won't get converted with completion code MQCC_WARNING..if it won't get converted ll get an another reason code also..not only this completion code

i'm not yet sure about my judgement..

"And why?" was not meant to have you just guess.

"And why?" was meant for you to demonstrate your mastery of WMQ, or to have you reasearch the appropriate manuals (all available for free download at http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/library/), and to reason your answer.

With three answers to randomly pick from, you had a one in three chance of getting it right without knowing anything or researching anything.

So, now that you have guessed "...the message will be converted twice with inconistent bit of patterns.", explain exactly, according to your mastery of WMQ, why you believe that answer is the correct one.

I don't want to hire a system admin that just guesses at answers.
