Advantages:

1. You can add a new QM on the cluster without having to disrupt the network.
2. Load balancing. Messages can pass through a Point of Presence which does round robin and routes the messages to any full repository.

Disadvantages:

1. Need to define many channels. This is resource consuming.
2. If the full repository is down, can't locate the queue.

Are there any other advantages and disadvantages?.

Read the clustering manual

The whole point in using a cluster is to avoid defining a gazillion of channels.
And autodefined channel did not require manual definition!
You define the cluster receiver once on all the cluster members.
Cluster senders are then autodefined using your cluster receiver as a template.

Enjoy

Incorrect; the destination queue can be on any queue manager in the cluster whether that queue manager is a full repository or not.

Wrong again.. The partial repository needs to talk to the FR only once in a while to know about a Q.
