I need to modify channel table entries but have issues doing so in WMQ 6.0.2.2 Explorer. The table has been ported to the Qmgr's @ipcc folder but the client channel entries are not visable from the WMQ Explorer. I vaguely remember having the same issue when we first implemented 6.0 - I could only see the client channels that were created on that Qmgr via WMQ Explorer...I know there are other ways to get my task done but I would really like to use the friendly WMQ gui

Client channel table file gets modified only on the server QM. You cannot modify the imported Client table file on the client machine.
When connecting from the explorer you just browse and use the Client table to get the connection details and connect to the QM. |

Hi,
Go get SupportPac MO72, it can edit client channel tables in a stand-alone setup.

I believe you misunderstood what I meant Picture this scenario: On several Qmgrs I have created svrconn channels. On Qmgr A I have created clntconn channels to all of my Qmgrs for that test environment. Tested capitalware exit behavior but later decided to add SSL to all...Since I was physically on Qmgr B at the time, I have ported my channel table there and my clntconn channels were not visible for edit. I do have other tools to do this and everything is done and working fine already anyway. What I am puzzeled with is that I could swear that in version 5 if client channels were created on one qmgr and then that channel table was ported to some other qmgr you could see the channels and edit them...Lead me to the light here

Hi,
In WMQ v6, there are issues with moving a client channel table between queue managers, hence, that is way I said to go get SupportPac MO72.

Ok. So why don't you use the new Client Channel Definition Table Editor product from Capitalware that is included with MQAUSX?

Because it does not allow you to manipulate all of the SSL parameters on the channel. Thanks for response though !!! |
