Hi,

I have noticed that on windows I don't need to have the windows MQSeries service running in order to start / stop / put messages on a local queue manager. Even though the docs talk about the Queue manager as if it is one process I can see in the task manager that is collection of processes. I did some searches on the internet and learned more about what each process that I saw in the task manager, but I did not find a good explanation of what the windows service does. Can anyone shed some light on the role of the windows service.

Thanks
Adib
