MQ V6.0.2.3 on Solaris, Windows, AIX

Background - Have set OAM in conjunction with security exit on most of the channels on a QM, the exit takes anybody that comes in and changes the profile to another that will be used for connection (MCA substitute). That is all cool and working fine.

Have setmqauts on various QM objects so that you are able to only browse enquire and display, incorporating a read only MQExplorer situ, but when it comes to channels I want to be able to enquire, display and see the overall channel status change to its different stages which doesn't seem to be possible unles you grant +ctrl but in doing so means that you can then start and stop and all that which is what i don't want, any ideas? have i missed something? if not then maybe a new permisasion would be good to be able to do that so app support people can see the attributes and status but can not administer it.

Did you give disp on the chl? I believe you have 2 possible values dsp and ctrl but look it up in the security manual...

Thanks.

Sure did read the manual hence my posting here as i did not get the result i was looking for. You are correct there is dsp and some others ctrl and ctrlx, but the dsp lets you display the attibutes which is fine i got that, the ctrl lets you do stop start etc. etc. and ctrlxz lets you do reset and resolve for in-doubts but thats not quite what I want. The dsp to me should have been fine, as in, if it lets you display attibutes then surely its status is an attribute but it doesn't seem to at 6.0.2.3 (noticed they got 6.0.2.4 now so will try) and the other permissions give too much control to the channel otherwise.
