Dear All,

I have an existing MQ cluster set up on two windows 2003 boxes , MQ v.6.0.2.3 and on AIX V5.2 MQ v6.0.2.3 which are on Develpoment.

Now I need to set up a test MQ cluster with two new windows boxes and connecting to the same AIX boxes. The IP address of the windows boxes are different but the AIX IP remains the same.

I tried to create the above with a saveqmgr but it did not work.
The channels are not starting though there are no firewall as it a test system

Please advise steps to create MQ cluster from one area to another

Regards

Your info seems to be quite inadequate to understand ur requirement. If you have ur full repository Qmgrs on AIX then, u simply have to remove the existing Qmgrs from the cluster by suspending them first(read clustering manual). And then create cluster sender and receiver channels on both your partial and full repository Qmgrs. If ur FR Qmgrs are on windows boxes then, u need to see the manual again on how to move ur FR Qmgrs from one box to another.
Or
if it is as simple as adding two new Qmgrs to the existing cluster then. U need to verify if you have the SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN channel defined with mcauser 'mqm' for the communition to begin.

Quick and dirty solution...

1. Create the two new Windows-based queue managers as Full Repositories for a new cluster.

2. Add AIX-based queue managers to the above cluster.

Questions...

1. Where are the current Full Repositories?

2. If you used saveqmgr, did you edit the channel definitions to reflect the new DNS Names/IP Addresses/Ports?
