hi all,
i have just started reading the manuals for Tivoli OmegaMon XE for Messaging on z/OS 6.0.1. Have a question i don't quite get the answer.
The manual mentions i have to upgrade Tivoli Management Services to version 6.1 FP5 before I upgrade monitoring agent to version 6.0.1. But in our environment we have some QMGRs on open system have version 6 agent already, and they are able to communicate to the current candle server. So I am confused by the upgrade requirements. Does it mean if my new TEMS, TEPS are to be installed on Open Systems, then I can upgrade my agents on z/OS anytime, whether it's before or after I set up the new TEMS, TEPS?
Background:
currently using Candle 3.6. Candle monitoring server on z/OS, got monitoring agents on z/OS and open systems.
plan to set up both TEMS and TEPS on open systems (AIX boxes), only install monitoring agents on z/OS.

further questions:
1) After going through installation guide appendix F Proudct Application Support, I don't understand what "Product Application Support for TEPS" is? I know we need to install application support to TEMS server for MQ monitoring, but what is "Product Application Support for TEPS" for? Asking this question is because we intend to install TEMS & TEPS on AIX boxes, i noticed application support "for TEPS" is NO in appendix F.
2) I read somewhere each agent can monitor up to 8 QMGRs. What if there are more than 8 QMGRs on a single machines? More specificly, on a z/OS LPAR? My understanding so far is, 1 monitoring agent per LPAR.
