Are you entirely sure about that port number?
Is your listener really running on that, on 1414 or 1415? Or where? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi Vitor,
yep the port is 14145 only. For default purposes, i changed it to 1414.
but then also
Error connecting via client to 'QMTST' RC(2059) QMgr not available.
please advise

Client install is a separate option in Windows _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi Vitor/ Jeff,
Thanks for your advises. Please may i know , where I can directly download the client so that it doesnt conflict with the MQ 5.3 server. I have already downloade M072 and through that i am able to connect the QM but not from the M071 program

The client should be on the same install media as the server, or can be downloaded from the IBM web site.
There are no issues involved in installing both client & server on a single machine. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi,

You can probably get the installer you have now to run in a different compatibility mode... _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hi Jeff,
I installed the 5.3 MQ series client on my windows box(XP). ( this has no MQ server) and tried the same steps
1. add location
2. client configure
a. SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN
b. autoconnect
3. in the conname - 43.X.X.X (1414)
(the QM iam connecing is on different machine) (windows) . all the services are up and running.
its again throwing mqrc 2059. please help

MO72 and MO71 share the config ini file, so what do you use to connect with MO72? _________________ Michael
