We are currently using WMQ 5.3. We have a SDR, to RCVR environment with one of our clients. Our QMGR is set to 26MB and the CHL/Queues for this clients are also. I have received a request to start passing 512 MB files. Currently we have 32 16MB active logs for this environment. I know I can increase the QMGR to 100MB, and the channel as well. I have two questions.
1. What impact will 100MB files on a regular basis have on my 32 16MB log files? (Should i increase them?)
2. As I need to pass larger than 100MB files, will segmentation work? And if so how? _________________ Bradley M. Lovell |

Hi,
I would suggest to use segmentation,.
1. Please increase ur Primary and Secondary files to 50 and 40. This gives MQ a bigger space.
2. MQ segmentation is good, if u only want to transfer files from 1 location to another. If u planning to do transformation, then it is a bit difficult. It can be done.
For MQ segmentation, in the MQPut program u need to add few lines to the C/Java program. |

you could also look at reference messages. MQ will 'move' the file, but no need to put it on a queue... _________________ Michael
