Hi folks,
I know that having fr1 and fr2 as full repos. and pr1 pr2 pr3 pr4 as partials I only need to create clussdrs to the fr1 & fr2, then the clustering features will create autochannels from and to every pr, but is there an official algorithm for that ?, I mean is it documented how does MQ decides if it creates new channels on every pr ?, also, if for example pr1 -> pr2 is not working but pr1 -> pr3 -> pr2 does work will it take that route ?

This is from the WMQ Clusters manual.
Every qmgr in a cluster must have a clussdr channel to a full repository (including the other full repository qmgr).
Cluster software will automatically create clussdrA channels as needed (when a program on one qmgr MQOPENs a clustered queue on another qmgr). These are point-to-point channels.
What do you mean by 'not working?' Have you tried this?

I mean, if for example your link between pr1 and pr2 is not working, but pr1 can talk to fr1 and fr1 can talk to pr2, is MQ going to use that alternative route for messages from pr1 to pr2 ?
I've searched for more detail on this features but I can't find it ... |

No. In a cluster all msgs are sent direct. If the channel is not working, the msg waits until it is.

Let's use the airline analogy:
Messages in a cluster are sent non-stop (point to point) from clussdr to clusrcvr. They do not stop anywhere or get rerouted.
