this is about our current setup (wbimb 5) where we use the message broker but the event broker binaries have also been installed.

can you be selective and not install event broker?

can event broker be un-installed without affecting message broker operation?

does the event broker get used at all when the message broker product has been installed ?

the same question would apply to wbimb 6.

Event broker is extensively used when you are using PUB/SUB.

i suggest you to keep it with the product. and Broker can do the same functionality of Event broker now.

In V5 on Windows, Event Broker appears in Add/Remove Programs as a separate installation. Though as MB is a superset of EB, you need both in order to work.
Note that Event Broker does not exist at all in V6.1.

It always was able to.
EB+{non-pubsub stuff} = MB.

Thanks everyone for your posts. This clarifies the situation for us.

My manager was almost tempted to un-install event broker on one of our test systems, I disuaded him against such action.
