When we configured our production queue manager several years ago, we took all defaults that were recommended for test environments. This has not been a problem because we had very few applications which used MQSeries. This is not the case now; we have two major applications which will be using MQ heavily. One of the first things I want to do is to resize the log datasets and BSDS to what is recommended. We are able to shut down the queue manager for the duration, so there will be no conflicts there. But here's my question: For the BSDS, is it just a matter of IDCAMS define and repro to resize it? Or will I have to run some utility to format the newly-created BSDS? Same question for the log datasets. |

This is covered in detail in two manuals:
WMQ for z/OS System Setup Guide; and
WMQ for z/OS System Administration Guide _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

thanks, bruce2359. Found the manuals, resized the datasets and had no problems with it. I appreciate your input. |
