Assume I am using native IP addresses for my channel definitions.
Now the channel is going down for some reason.
MQ will log that information into the errorlog.

I was told that now MQ is trying to resolve the ip address to get the DNS name (just to provide that DNS name in the errorlog info).

Is that right ?

Sounds a little bit strange .....

WMQ tries to find the hostname from the IP address (reverse lookup) to put into the error log.

Thanks Nigelg for confirming that !

Next question is:
What happens if this reserve lookup is failing (because of DNS Server problems).
Will MQ wait and the channel will not be closed properly ?
So the danger could be to come into a loop until max channels is reached (because the client is still trying to reconnect) ?
