Looking for recommendation for Vendors that provide an SNMP Agent for MQ event monitoring ... contact admin and Tivoli do I believe ... others ?
Any recommendations ... etc ...
Need to have MQ events (performance, etc. ) turned into SNMP traps and forwarded to EM7 SNMP management product.

I believe nowadays most decent monitoring packages provide an SNMP trap capability. Check with the expected vendor. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I played with Netflexity's capability to send SNMP Traps, you can configure what information is sent in the trap using variables. _________________ Michael

Any more input on your experiences with Netflexity product ??
Anyone with experience with contact admin ... I have heard favorable things in past about their product ...

Trying to deduce what component or set of subcomponent products in the Tivoli suite of (godawful) number of offerings that I actually need (not would be nice or neat ) to Monitor WSMQ and have the monitoring be shipped back as SNMP notifications to a third party System Management product (EM7) using SNMP notifications ...
Am getting a headache ... trying to figure even the required product base starting point and what if any required additional components ...
Thought all I would need is Tivoli Omegamon DE but there is XE and not sure if it is what is needed from what I have read so far. ...
Anyone doing MQ monitoring using SNMP notification to central System management Hub.??
... As MQ is not SNMP enabled an SNMP agent adapter is needed to take event queue info and translate to SNMP MIBS OIDs and forward to collection server or app.
Anybody doing this with Tivol products and if so what ones 'exactly' and 'minimally' are needed ?

I believe Omegamon XE For Messaging is an atomic unit of product, and will cover your need. It may be that you can purchase only the "MQ" piece of Omagamon XE for Messaging, though.
Your IBM Sales representative should be able to arrange for you to speak to a properly qualified product expert to help you better understand what you can do. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
