Hi all,
I'm attempting to import multiple DTDs into a single message set. The 3 imports work fine but when I try to check everything in, it comes back with an error stating that multiple elements with the same identifier cannot exist. Apparently what happens is that since these 3 DTDs share some common elements, WMQI will just assign the same identifier for all 3 (say First_Name). Is there anyway to get around this? I think I'm running into a major dead end...
Thanks,
Jim |

I never try it myself but I think it should work. You can try to combine the three DTD into one outside of WMQI by using XML utility and then import it to MRM.
Good luck |

That's an idea tho' I've decided to import 1 DTD in, change the identifier to something unique and then import the next, change the identifier, etc, etc. Hopefully that will do the trick.
Thanks,

Well...disregard the last msg. After doing some experimenting, I figured out something that works beautifully (tho' it is a hack). Create a msg set. Import your DTD. Create another msg set. Import the next DTD. Then right click on the second msg, click "copy", and then go to messages under the first message set, right click, and then click "paste". Strangely enuf, all redundant instances are only created once while all new instances from the second DTD are newly created. Don't ask me why this works, but it does...
Cheers,
