The same way you would on a distributed platform, using the equivalent tools for z/OS obviously.
How do you define "unused" in this context? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

In this case channels which are not used from last 1 month shoud be listed. Channel can be any type. I want to know how can i decide the channel is used or not ? |

Probably best to follow the advice you were given here and use SMF.
And hope there's not an interface somewhere that only runs quaterly!
I must say, slightly disapointed at the apparent quality of the architecture documentation on your site. The object inventory seems a bit, well, reactive. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Blast through the SYSTEM.ADMIN.CHANNEL.EVENTS queue if you have enabled channel events. This will tell you which have been used.
SMF will tell which have been too (if you have switched SMF recording on)but will involve you running a job or two to extract the information.
As for which haven't been used....if they are defined but don't have any events or SMF data cut for them....then there is a chance they are not used. Just a chance though....it may be that they are just used very infrequently. |
