Summary of role
Working within the Technical Support Team, the successful candidate will possess a broad range of skills throughout the technology used and demonstrate strong subject matter knowledge within the essential applications detailed below. The ability to learn new technologies/procedures quickly will also be required in order to support day to day processing through the automated scheduling environment, this will ultimately involve support on an “24x7 On Call basis” within a rota.

Working within project teams the role will include the specification of hardware / software components through to the actual implementations and ongoing support of applications into the business. A sound “production oriented” approach is therefore essential.

Internally initiated projects such as upgrades will also involve management of the project through to production using the reporting structures in place.

Expert level knowledge in:
• IBM MQSeries
• Microsoft Windows 2000/03
• Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005

Skills
• Problem solving
• Team working
• Attention to detail

Experience
• Experience working within a Production (service) orientated environment

Personal characteristics
• Good communication skills spanning teams within the IS department, and the broader Company.
• Willing to work flexibly in order to meet the demands of the role.
• Available for out of hours / weekend work.
