Hi Guys,
I am working for a client which is very strict in installing the software on the enetrprise's PC. The help desk will do the installation of the software whatever we need to. For that I need to request my boss to raise a ticket to get the software installed on my PC.
Question:
I wanted to install the MQExplorer Client version on my desktop to remote administer the QMgrs which are configured on Solaris boxes. Is it possible to get the Client software from somewhere in the IBM's site with which there is no need to request the help desk to install the Client software(MQExplorer) on my PC?.
Thanks in advance.

IIRC the Client software is a support pac. IIRC again you need admin rights to install it.
Less confident about the 2nd point.
AFAIK the Explorer comes with a server install not a client one.
Slightly more confident about that. But not much. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Obviously best to ask IBM rep about licensing but.. AFAIK:
MQ Explorer is on Server CD *only*
MQ Explorer can be installed on as many client machines as you like as long as you have at least 1 distributed server licence.
Ohhh in fact:

WebSphere MQ Explorer runs on Microsoft® Windows® and Linux® x86 machines. It does not need to be deployed with a WebSphere MQ client or server, and you can install as many copies as required.

MQ Explorer is provided with WebSphere MQ on distributed platforms. MQ Explorer does not require a local server or client, and it can be installed on workstations without charge.

Of course you will still need to get your hands on a server CD, but that should be the info you require straight from an IBM source |

Stand a little taller, Vitor. You were correct on both counts. _________________ Peter Potkay

Yay me. Won't bother with the lottery ticket this week though; seem to have used all my luck.... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
