If you're going to quote IBM documentation, post a link to the IBM site not some state govt copy!
abcd1234: I would suspect someone or something is remote administration from a box with an unexpected CCSID. Check the system queues for such messages and identify the CCSID in question. Rather than change the CCSID (which is going to cause more problems than it fixes) install the conversion table for that CCSID into the target's CCSID. Even if the CCSID of the problem messages is Simplified Mongolian Yak Breeder you're only converting a WMQ message, so special characters are not a problem - you just want the queue manager to find a valid conversion. It will then use it and start, or start complaining about this invalid command message content. Either way, it'll start. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

When you use the saveqmgr to save/back queue manager object, you only taking a backing/saving Queue Manager objects only but not the QMGR definition and none of the objects you have taken have CCSID parameter, only QMGR has CCSID.
Can you explain what are all the steps you have done to backup and restore objects from one QMGR to the other? What OS's two QMGR's running? |

I'm going to have to disagree with you there.
MS03 produces an ALTER QMGR statement on output. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
