Manuals are available for Tandem/NSK 5.1 and 5.3 - Is it the case that IBM still supports these releases on Tandem/NSK (HP Non Stop) even though V5.3 is no longer supported on other platforms? Also, would anybody know of the whereabouts of documentation related to the migration of MQ5.1 to MQ5.3 on Tandem/NSK?

HP NonStop Server does not have a v6.0 so the v5.3 code is still supported.

I don't know about the migration details, but I'd look on the documentation site at one of the platform specific manuals.

Consult the SAG SC34-6625-00 or Quick Beginnings GC34-6626-00 guides there are migration utilities available in the 53.1.x code

Also be aware the the current patch version is V53.1.2 which I haven't installed as yet but V531.1_patch3 is working very well for our Tandem systems.

BTW we always seem to be one release back from the world of other mq versions but, I guess IBM has it's reasons.

Good Luck!

V53, and now V5.3.1.2 is the current version for NSK. I believe it is more comparable to V6 for other platforms.

There is a 'hidden' manual in the READMES directory called 'Upgmqmreadme.pdf'. This is a pdf that documents the upgmqm command that you will want to use to migrate your queue managers from 5.1 to 5.3.

This should be in the manuals that are on-line.

Just as a side bar I was just notified that there is a problem wuth the V53.1.2 fixpak. You should be good to go for V53.1.1

We have released a Flash about a WMQ V531 HP NonStop Channel Server /
Channel Synchronization record issue that potentially could occur and
effect WMQ operations. Please verify your queue managers and take
appropriate action to correct if required.

Please do not open old posts, it's preferable that you open a new one (avoids us having to read through all the previous posts to find context).

As is usual for newbies, I refer you to THIS forum, which contains a mine of information and do/don't for the site.

There is a link on the WMQ V7.0 Info Centre welcome page that will take you to the WMQ Library, from where you can download the relevant manuals you need.
