I installed MQ on Solaris 8. When I try to run crtmqm, it fails, because it can't find 'libdce.so'. This happened with v 5.1 and 5.2. As a workaround, we place a bogus file named 'libdce.so' in the lib directory. The ldd command shows the dependency is directly in crtmqm (and dltmqm), not indirectly via another library. |

With MQSeries on Solaris, there appears to be two separate and distinct threading libraries that can be used. I believe these are Solaris native threads and DCE threads. When installing MQSeries via pkgadd, a question is asked ... something like "Do you want DCE support?". Unless you REALLY need (and known you need) DCE support, you should always answer no. I suspect that you answered yes. If possible, un-install MQSeries and walk slowly through a fresh install and watch carefully for this question. |
