I didn't think this was possible... and if it wasn't Friday afternoon I might not post this however.... One of our business partners is telling me that in a clustered environment it's possible to have different channel names on either end of a CLUSSDR or CLURCVR channel...
For example if I have a CLUSRCVR called TO.BILL and my business partner has a CLUSSDR called TO.JACK, as long as the connection name has the right IP and port number, this is going to work.
Cluster channels are auto-defined. Cluster Sender channels are only ever used to initiate conversations with a full repository. The cluster receiver(s) on a queue manager are used to define appropriate cluster senders to that queue manager from other machines - using the same name.
So you will see an autodefined channel receiver named TO.BILL on BILL qmgr from the qmgr JACK (and every other qmgr in the cluster). And you will see an autdefined cluster sender channel named TO.JACK on BILL, that goes to JACK. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
