Senior WebSphere (Unix) Administrator - Irving, TX
MICHAELS STORES, INC.

Basic Function:
This is a senior level system administration position with an extra focus on supporting WebSphere Portal, MQ and DataStage ETL products. Candidate will possess skills required to support these products on Michaels IBM hardware running the AIX operating system.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support and general administration within the IBM WebSphere/Tomcat application and IBM/Apache web server space used by various applications at Michaels.
- Provide support for development partners and general administration for IBM DataStage ETL and IBM MQ Message Brokering software.
- This includes installing, patching, tuning, upgrading, securing and debugging.
- Facilitate and manage the planning, installation, configuration and deployment of AIX based server(s) in a virtualized environment.
Provide day to day support for AIX/Linux operating systems and IBM server hardware.
- Provide support for development groups on the Michaels UNIX servers. This will include, support for requests for disk space, network connectivity, special system software (compilers, etc.), system security and backups/recoveries.
- Develop scripts to automate administrative functions (Perl, Korn Shell etc).
- Develop and Document Standard Operating Procedures. Provide response to management information requests in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:
5 years administration experience on IBM WebSphere products in a large complex computing environment.
Technical hands on.

Educational Requirements:
BA (Computer Science or Mathematics) or equivalent work experience.
AIX, WebSphere certification or equivalent work experience.
