Hello,

We have multiple .net applications running on a single server. Up until now these applications have all been client applications. We are now changing our architecture to have local queue managers that are in a cluster.

My question is can we run a .net application that has a client connection to a remote queue manager simultaneously with another .net application that connects to a local queue manager if we have NMQ_MQ_LIB=MQIC32.dll?

My testing is showing me that the appliction attempting to connect to the local queue manager is failing with a 2058. If I remove the NMQ_MQ_LIB env. variable then it connects to the local queue manager with no problem. This would then obviosly cause a problem for the client application.

disclaimer....I am the MQ admin, not the developer.

Thanks,
Jason

Don't set the variable globally.

Set it in a batch script that starts the application.

On pages 'ix' & 'x' of WMQ Using .NET manual, read 'Terms used in this book', it has a description how to do what you want to do.

Perfect. Thank you very much.

Oddly enough that information does not show up when using the IBM Websphere MQ Information center with all of the V6.0 manuals. I had to look at a .pdf version to find it.

I found it in the Info Center:
