jefflowrey, I read damaged queue manager objects and damaged objects under failure and recovery.

May I know is there any way to intentionally (eg: deleting or editing certain files) make the queue manager object or an object in the queue manager to be in the state of damage?

Here's a way to damage a queue object - on windows or unix:
- create a local queue called 'bob'
- put some persistent messages to the queue.
- find the 'queues' folder under your qmgr name down the filepath
- find the queue object 'bob'
- open the queue object 'bob'
- delete (erase) the 'q' file in the 'bob' folder
The queue object is now damaged.
