How easy is it to take a complete back up of QPasa. I have not done one yet and need to do one ASAP?

The central services server, on Windows? It has been a long time since I did this, but as I recollect it was as simple as copying the entire QP installation directory. (Why would you want to do this, I'm just curious; does your server not get backed up by your systems folks?) Not sure it would work just dropped in place on another server, though, as there are some minimal registry entries also (as well as DB connection files & configuration).

Or are you asking how to backup your custom files on the services server, for restoration to a clean install of QPasa? Or are you asking about agents? Or the database?

I'm basiclly wanting to know if I had to move QPasa to another server if I had hardware failure or something if it can be done.

I know how to point the agent to another server.
What I don't know is how do i get all my custom templates over.

QPasa has a batch process for getting configuration from one server to the other. For the custom setup I guess you will need to backup some files on the server... Enjoy

We did move QPasa from one server to another a few years ago, as a part of a hardware upgrade. It was in 2004 and I have been looking for the doco, which I finally found. At that time, all we had to do was copy the entire QP directory, install the appropriate DB driver and then make a DSN of exactly the same name.

Since then, I believe the way views are managed by QP has changed, so I don't know if a backup/restore is as simple as this. I believe all the custom items are buried somewhere in the Media folder.

email support at MQSoftware is extremely responsive. Please check with them for the official answer. I inquired about this a while back and they will give you a list of what you need to copy from QPASA Server A to QPASA Server B.

Like SAFraser said, QPASA 4.0 may have newer better ways to accomplish this. I asked back at like 2.* or maybe 3.0.
