I'm planning for an install of Message Broker 6.1 on AIX 5.3 and the question came up if we can use DB2 9.5 as the broker's db repository. The docs indicate DB2 9.1, but doesn't indicate if DB2 9.5 is or is not supported.

I don't see a problem, but I want to see if anyone else had success with this.

Thanks in advance.

It says 9.1. Even if someone did get it to work with 9.5 would you want to run production on a configuration not explicitly supported just because some yahoo on the internet said it worked for them?

At the very least open a PMR with IBM and get the official take on it. Maybe an upcoming WMB fixpack will include support for the version of DB2 you want to use.

Good point.

I'll open a PMR to see what the official word is and post a response.

Here's the reply for IBM in regards to if WMB 6.1 can use DB2 9.5 as the broker repository:

Currently only DB2 8.1 and 9.2 are supported and tested with WMB 6.1. You would get support for WMB 6.1 up until its determined to be DB related then you would recreate on a suppported DB level.

And know you know.
