Why not add them as part of the installation? They're optional components; rerun your install and add them.

And are they not in /opt/mqm/samp/bin anyway?

Yes, some Unix platforms use /opt/mqm, some use /usr/mqm.

Regardless, <mqm>/samp is only populated , including <mqm>/samp/bin, if you install the samples.

I don't just agree, it's what I said but I really like the emoticon.

If you have another AIX installation with the sample files, you can copy or ftp them. Otherwise, as earlier mentioned, you'll have to use the installation routine to get them.

Did you find this out the hard way and actually copy them over and receive successful results?

I've done it many times. So long as both machines are Solaris (and it doesn't seem to matter what version of Solaris), copying the sample programs works just fine. I don't know about other OS flavors.

It's really common for me to find a client machine from which I need to do an amqsputc & amqsgetc, and the samples aren't there. I've also had to copy them to machines with MQ server installed, because some trout-worthy admin did not choose "sample programs" during the installation.
