Is it possible to use PROPAGATE within a route to label flow?
I am reading in Orders from WebSphere Commerce, which have a repeating group of items/products purchased. I am checking the sales of the individual products against a forecast and generating an alert if it is outside a tolerance.
If a product does not beach a threshold, I log a transaction message, but if the threshold is breached I need to create four different types of output message.
I thought the best way to achieve this would be to use PROPOGATE within a compute node route to label to get the products as individual messages.
Two Questions:
1. Should this work?
2. Is there a better or more appropriate method of achieving my objective?
PROPAGATE will work. As to whether it's your best solution I would need to think longer and understand better what you are doing. Are the four messages going to different queues or the same queue, etc.
I am sure there are some folks out there who have more experience than myself that can answer question number 2 better.
No problems at all as each propogated message has it's own LocalEnvironment tree.
I have done something similar i.e. routing ouput messages to diifferent parts of the flow and it worked no probs.
To give you some idea my version extracted vital info from the input message looped around on the input message creating a few Environment variables and an empty message from each structure in the input message then propogted these messages to one label. When the loop was finished the input message was routed elsewhere.
