Here's my situation:
I have a Windows 2000 server running MQ 6.0.2.1. Functionality seems fine, but the error logs are displaying times incorrectly. For example: the time on the SYSTEM is set to GMT, but I see entries in the error log from both GMT and EST (EST is where the server is physically located). To test this, I intentionally tried to PING a SVRCONN channel. The first entry in the error log showed my activity at GMT (matching the SYSTEM time) but two other entries were logged at the same time using EST.
I believe that there are two instances of MQ installed on this system, but only 1 is complete. The complete one is under the C:\IBM\Websphere MQ directory, the incomplete one is under the typical default, C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ.
Could this be the problem? Functionally, MQ seems to be working fine, but this issue could make PD a bit tricky.

If there are 2 instances of MQ installed on your system, that's not a supported configuration.
If both of them are running simultaniously then there's been dark magic used and anything could be happening there. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

LOL! Thanks! That's pretty much what I thought, too. My next recommendation to these guys will be to do a complete uninstall of both instances and reload it cleanly.
Again, thanks! _________________ "Don't take life too seriously... you won't get out of it alive..." |
