Hi All,

I am a MQ noob.

How do i know programmatically for sure that a application is connected to a Queue?

for e.g. if App A is connected to Queue1 , then my app B should programmatically tell me upon inquiring the queue1 , if app A is connected or not.

Can I use the open input count for this?

any suggestions/ideas?

Thanks.

Do a QSTATUS using the Handle Status option.

You can do this via a runmqsc session or using PCF commands out of a program. Just because open input count = 0 doesn't mean the q isn't open by something somehow.

Why does AppB care if AppA has the q open? Unless AppB is a monitoring app, it shouldn't.
