Hi,
Just a quick question:
Should the transmission queue Name match up with remote queue manager name?
In other words,if I have a remote queue manager say MQDEV,should the transmission queue name be MQDEV?
thanks |

Really?
On what do you base this?
Is this connected to this: http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=191193 and if so, your site has some seriously funky routing standards. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

There isn't a yes or no answer here.
It is "Yes, it should match if you want to do X", and "No, it should not match if you want to do Y".
X, however, may be preferable to most people than Y. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

There is no requirement for naming any MQ object - other than A-Z, a-z, dot, slask, percent, underscore. The name should be meaningful to you. Or not; as you choose.
Naming the transmission queue the same name as the queue manager at the other end of the channel makes it easier to understand, and easier to do problem determination. It's one of those "best practices" we chat about. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

It also makes multi-hop messaging easier.
