Hi there,
I am trying to apply CSD14 for Windows on my machine for my MQ v5.3 installation. The problem is that no matter what I do, the installer always complains that files are being used (the message reads: "IBM MQ WebSphere files are in use. Stop activity and retry. (AMQ4757)") I tried reboot machine before running the installer. I also tried stop the "IBM MQSeries" service from Windows' service manager before start the installer. I even tried kill all process whose name starts with "amsq" before start installer... but nothing changes.
I wonder what do I have to do to have the installer to run? Should I run the CSD14 before install MQSeries?
Please advise!
Thanks in advance

Apply the patch before installing the base product? Interesting, I might say novel thought!
Search the forum for the error message - as so often this has been discussed before. The message is a false positive from Windoze and you specify something like MQINUSE=1 (but not exactly that because it doesn't look right!) to override the usage check.

In particular, the option MQPINUSEOK is useful when the installation
fails reporting that files are in use (eg. AMQ4756).
Example syntax in this case would be:
WebSphereMQMDV6.0.2.1EnUs.exe [-s] -a MQPINUSEOK=1
(For the self extracting version from the web)
AMQICSDN.exe MQPINUSEOK=1
(Running amqicsdn from the unpacked version)
Where
The -s option tells the unpacking to run silently, and
the -a option passes the subsequent parameter to amqicsdn.exe. _________________ Cheers,
