Question 1:
I tried to find some "light and simple" GUI tools (installed in widow or unix) to do
(1) Monitor status of queue, channel and connectivity.
(2) Monitor the performance statistics or alert for some critical events like hang issue for MQ service.
(3) easy-to-use to execute administrative and operational actions
with one click (rather than typing a series of MQSC commands) like restarting the whole MQ service including QM and Listener.
(4) Monitors message flow between and across message nodes (local and remote)
Please let me know whether some tools can be available for above request.
Our environments:
A. Local MQ server (single node, single QM) is in AIX P520 platform
B. We need communicate with a remote MQ server at external site.
C. We like to have GUI monitoring tools (either in Unix or Window) to monitor all activities happened in A.
-- For example, if there are too many queued messages in transmission queues in A, we need make sure local MQ server is in normal functional situation including sending/receiving channels.
Some tools like BMC MAINVIEW is too comples to install/configure/maintean..
Question 2:
Install "MQ Explorer" in winodw server and monitor the status of MQ server in Unix platform (AIX)
is it still possible to use Window GUI “MQ explorer” to do remote monitoring for MQ server in Unix platform?
Thank you very much for your support!

MQ Explorer, with perhaps some additional support packs, will do all this for you. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Also checkout the support pac MO71, which is excellent (and less clunky that the memory intensive Eclipse based explorer). |
