Thanks to everyone for your kind help with my previous post. We would like to know whether WSMQ supports Data compression or not? We are on MQ 5.3 and as it has message size limitations, we are looking for options to see if we can do data compression or not. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your kind help

Yes.
You can put any data, compressed or not, into a message.
In supported versions of MQ, i.e. v6 and later, you can configure your channels to compress message data as it moves across the network.
There is no capability within the product to compress and then decompress data when you Put or Get a message.
There's plenty of support for sending data that is as arbitrarily as large as you want it to be.
The three main choices are segmentation, grouping, and reference messaging.
Move to v6.
Read the documentation a lot more. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
