Version 6 Broker, AIX. I have a requirement to connect to 64 bit db2 remote database from message broker flow. The broker database/instance is 32 bit.

I had the database cataloged to local database instance and I added a stanza in .odbc.ini and ran setdbparms. bounced broker, Everthing conencted fine. I read about 64 bit ODBC ini file and stuff related to it but did nothing specific to 64 bit DSN for my situation.

1. Does any one see's any Gotcha's in my set-up?
2. Will there be any situations where you need to use both .odbc.ini files (default and 64 bit) for the same broker?
3. If we have multiple brokers running on the same machine, Can we make each broker to use its own .odbc.ini files ?

Any pointers/words of wisdom appreciated.

Thanks

If you are using only 32bit DFE (EG process) then you don't need to configure 64bit .ini file.

--> If you want to use different .odbc.ini files for each broker, You need to then have each broker running under different service id.
